Breakthroughs in anatomical and functional imaging of brain processes are helping to eliminate the stigma associated with the fields of psychology and psychiatry. It is now well established in the scientific and research communities that many psychiatric disorders have strong medical and genetic influences. Education of the patient as well as the general public (the latter through public speaking and resources found on our website) is an integral aspect of In Step Associates' mission to provide highly effective and well respected mental health services.

Mental health disorders can impact our day-to-day behavior and function and intrude upon the decision-making process. When gone untreated, they can have detrimental effects which might include relationship/family conflicts, poor job/school performance, substance abuse or legal issues. Behavioral disorders require treatment based on severity, impact on functional level and level of discomfort to you and the people in your life.
