Nancy Brandes, LCPC*
Nancy is a licensed clinical professional counselor who is focused on cultivating wellness, personal empowerment, and happiness in her clients.
Her 9 years of experience encompasses individual and family counseling, and she works closely with patients ages 18 and up struggling with a range of mental health issues. These issues include, but are not limited to, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, codependency, anger management, personality disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.
Nancy has worked in a variety of settings: community mental health, both inpatient hospital and partial hospitalization programs and outpatient group practice. Her expertise in acute settings serves her well when treating patients at In Step Behavioral Health, an outpatient clinic. She strives to educate patients on all available treatment options and collaborates well with clinicians of other specialties, should such a need arise.

Nancy is trained in a variety of treatment modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), assertive communication, stages of change, grief and loss and expressive therapy.
While experienced in many areas of mental health, Nancy specializes in individual counseling. She believes that therapy should help to enhance each individual’s life and inspire them to live their lives to the fullest. Nancy works toward developing an ideal therapeutic relationship, one that is both restorative and, at times, challenging.
Nancy earned her Master of Education in Human Services and Counseling from DePaul University, in Chicago, Illinois. She keeps her skill set current through specialized training and workshops in addition to Continuing Education Units (CEUs) required to maintain her licensure.
When not practicing therapy, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, travelling, and trying new restaurants.
Nancy is available for in-person sessions, local telehealth or hybrid (in-person + telehealth)
