Since 2007, Ms. Rusev has been on a mission to learn about, treat and even prevent trauma. She has a special passion for helping both individuals and organizations with crisis intervention and trauma. Mia goes beyond a trauma-focused lens which includes innovative protocols to address and process traumatic reactions that interfere with a person's ability to navigate the present.
Mia has been interviewed on a variety of TV, radio and magazine news channels in the Chicago area and is always happy to discuss mental health publicly in order to help destigmatize mental health issues and treatment. She participates in supporting the local community in other ways as well. For example, she taught the Disaster Psychology section of CERT training (community emergency response team) in DuPage county.
Mia earned her BS in sociology from Bradley University in 1997 and her MSW (Master in Social Work) from University of Illinois at Chicago's Jane Addams' College of Social Work in 2003. Mia has been trained in Dr. Eric Gentry's Forward-Facing Trauma Therapy (FFTT) as well as Dr. Jon Connelly's Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT).
Mia is available for in-person sessions, local telehealth or hybrid (in-person + telehealth)
